1. How soon before our wedding should we come in to Selix Formalwear to reserve our tuxedos and should we pre-register?
It’s never too soon to register your wedding and place your names into our wedding registry database. It is preferred that visit the nearest Selix Formalwear location to set an appointment or pre-register online at our website. Typically speaking most brides and grooms will begin the tuxedo or suit rental selection process 6-9 months in advance of their wedding.
2. Should we set an appointment and what should we bring?
Yes, set an appointment. This way a formalwear consultant can set aside dedicated time to spend with the bride and groom to walk them through the selection process. It is always helpful when the bride and groom bring their color swatches (gown/dress/accent or theme colors). Please be prepared with the names of the men who will be wearing a suit or tuxedo. Our dedicated staff will personalize the look of your wedding so that the men will look and feel great and you’ll have photography and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
3. How soon before the wedding should the men place their tuxedo orders?
A good rule of thumb is that 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding all the men should have been measured for their tuxedo rental and entered into our reservation system. That being said Selix Formalwear maintains over $5,000,000 in inventory locally. This means we have the capability to accommodate next day and same day tux orders. Selix Formalwear never charges a rush fee for orders placed a minimum of 3 days in advance.
4. Can the men be fitted at any Selix Formalwear store and how do you handle the men that do not live locally?
This is a simple issue to address. The men may visit any Selix Formalwear location for their tuxedo rental fittings. They do not have to go to the store where the wedding was registered. For those men that do not live close to a Selix Formalwear location, we ask that they please call any Selix Formalwear location and speak to a fashion consultant. They will direct you to a preferred tuxedo rental affiliate in their area to obtain a courtesy measurement. Find a Courtesy Measurement Form Here. Once they’ve gotten measured, simply email, phone or fax the information to Selix Formalwear.
5. Does everyone have to try on their tuxedos or suits when they pick up and what if they need size changes?
Selix Formalwear understands how important it is that all the men look and feel great. We strongly encourage that every customer be fitted by one of our trained formalwear professionals in our store to ensure a great fit. We own, operate and house our inventory locally so we have the ability to make adjustments as needed. We will schedule your final fitting a minimum of 2 days prior to your wedding. In most cases our formalwear consultants can make the adjustments or exchanges on the spot, otherwise we’ll have the items delivered the following day.
6. What style tuxedos should we consider for the men and how can we coordinate the bridesmaids dresses with the groomsmen tuxedos or suits?
Selix Formalwear trained formalwear consultants can be very helpful in coordinating the look of your wedding whether it be traditional or contemporary. The season and time of day may also play a part in coordinating the look for your wedding. The important thing to remember is that the groom should be distinct in some manner to compliment the bridal gown. Many brides consider that the groomsmen compliment the colors of the bridesmaid’s gowns. You may use vest/tie and pocket square combinations when coordinating with your color theme.
7. What size tuxedos does Selix Formalwear carry?
Selix Formalwear is one of the largest formalwear companies on the west coast. We have 13 store locations and over 400 authorized tuxedo dealers. We have over $5,000,000 dollars in tuxedo and suit inventory to select from including basic to designer styles. We can accommodate most any size tux (from boy’s 3 to men’s 70) and body build including Big and Tall. 8. When can our wedding party pick up their tuxedos and when are they due to be returned?
The tuxedo rentals are scheduled for final fittings 2 days prior to your wedding. The tuxedos are due to be returned the following day of the wedding (except closed holidays). Selix Formalwear is open 7 days a week and it’s important that the garments are returned promptly.
9. Can the men be fitted at one location and drop off at a different store?
The men may visit any Selix Formalwear location that is convenient to them for their fitting, pickup and return. Our state of the art formalwear software system allows us to access a wedding registration from any of our Selix Formalwear locations. This way it will make it most convenient for all the men in the wedding party.
10. Who should wear tuxedos in our wedding party?
Most typically the following men should be dressed in formalwear for the formal photography; groom, best man, groomsmen, ushers/attendants, ring bearer, fathers, grandfathers and any other special friends of the families such as readers or singers. Remember this is one of the few occasions in your life where you can capture a portrait of a generational photo.
11. What are Selix Formalwear tuxedo rental prices?
The tuxedo rental prices at Selix Formalwear begin at $49.95. Selix Formalwear carries the largest selection from basics to designers and can accommodate every budget. Tuxedo pricing can vary according to the style and accessory selection you choose and we never charge additional for Big and Tall sizes.
12. What tuxedo discounts are there for the groom and other members of the wedding party?

13. Why should we wear tuxedos?
